We proceed north from Great Falls riding on two lane country roads. As we approach Glacier, the Rocky Mountains become increasingly prominent to our west. This will be a relaxing day on the Harleys®, with limited vehicles to spoil the scenery. We stop at St. Mary for gas and a short break. Continuing our ride, we enter the northern section of Glacier National Park and arrive at our destination for the evening, the Many Glacier Lodge. This section of the park is referred to as the "Switzerland of North America".

Hotel Info
We spend the evening at the Many Glacier Lodge, located on Swiftcurrent Lake in the northern part of Glacier National Park. The scenic beauty of the lake and  the majestic mountains is almost breathtaking. We will dine at the lodge, with quiet time in the evening to enjoy your surroundings. Go to Many Glacier Hotel for more information.
Rocky Mountains

Up early, we enjoy a morning breakfast and soon find ourselves once again on the road.

Proceeding north, we parallel the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains and the Continental Divide as we make our way along Montana’s back roads toward Glacier National Park.

We arrive at the small village of St Mary, best known as the eastern entrance to Glacier National Park. The village is the eastern terminus of the Going-to-the-Sun Road which bisects the park east to west, a distance of 53 miles (85 km). Fewer than 50 people reside in the village year-round; however, the population increases tenfold on a busy summer evening. Several lodges, a small grocery store, two gas stations and campgrounds are located in the village.

We continue our ride north to Babb, Montana where we enter the northern section of Glacier National Park, called the "Switzerland of North America". It is here that we will spend the evening at the Many Glacier Hotel. Located on Swiftcurrent Lake, this magnificent resort offers breathtaking views and an unforgettable experience. This resort also offers the best opportunity for wildlife viewing of any resort in the park. Many Glacier is the largest hotel in the park with 208 rooms. Its design was modeled after Swiss chalets and the Swiss theme is carried throughout the hotel.
